Gonorrhea cases have jumped over the past few years. In 2014, the county reported 1,853 new diagnoses, and in 2018, it had nearly 3,000, with 2,948, or a rate of 215 new infections for every 100,000 residents.
County health officials are urging all sexually active individuals to get tested for STDs regularly and help reduce the spread of these preventable diseases.
