Truckee, CA, is an incorporated town in Nevada County. The county’s HIV surveillance records showed a spike in the incidence rate of new HIV infections between 2019 and 2020.
The rate of infection in the first year of reference was 78 per 100,000 residents while new infections in 2019 were recorded at a rate of 102 in every population of 100,000.

Additionally, the same fluctuation was evident in the number of Syphilis infections recorded between 2015 and 2017. There were three cases in 2015, eight in 2016, and seven in 2017 recorded at prevalence rates of 3.1, 8.1, and 7.1, respectively.
