Dearborn, Michigan, is a suburb of Detroit, so one would expect it to share that city’s high STD rates, but their HIV rate is much lower.
In 2016, there were 6,675 people living with HIV or AIDS in Wayne County, which Dearborn shares with Detroit and other suburbs; 343 more people were diagnosed that year. But the HIV prevalence rates in the Dearborn zip codes ranged from 68 to 134 per 100K people, much lower than the Detroit rates.
