There are currently 1,028 reported cases of Gonorrhea in the city. The current Chlamydia rate is 452.3 cases per 100,000 people. There are 211 cases of HIV per 100,000 people, as well, and 6.2 cases of Syphilis per 100,000 people.
Of course, there are likely many more people who are infected but have not been diagnosed.
Salt Lake City provides residents with several STD testing center options, including Planned Parenthood on 900 East. Some private options are available as well, including on 1100 East and other locations.
Most clinics are on the public transportation route if getting there is an issue. Students at the local colleges can also take advantage of the services offered on campus. In some cases an appointment will be necessary, while others welcome walk-ins. The Odyssey House started in 1971 and has become one of the most respected providers of substance abuse care in the state. With substance abuse comes the risk of sexually transmitted diseases, so in response, they started screening for STDs.

Mondays and Thursday HIV testing is free from 5 to 7 pm. You also can just walk in. Any other time you will need an appointment and there is a charge. However, their fees are less than other health clinics.
