Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) like gonorrhea, chlamydia, and primary syphilis have been on the rise among L. A’s South Bay cities. The rising rates of transmissions are attributed to the continued practice of unprotected and the improved electronic reporting of new incidences by health facilities.
According to a 2014 CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) report, Los Angeles County recorded a 27% increase in rates of gonorrhea, 16% rise in syphilis cases, and 4% spike in chlamydia cases.
