Highland is a census-designated city within the Utah County Health District. HIV surveillance data collected between 2015 and 2017 indicated a wavy trend in the number of new infections in the area. According to the data, 12 cases were recorded in 2015, 14 in 2016, and just nine in 2017.
Moreover, there was a minor increase in new Syphilis infections from six cases recorded at a prevalence of 1.0 in every tally of 100,000 persons in 2015 to eight at a rate of 1.3 per 100,000 population in 2017.
