Introduction

What are the STI test options in Marinette,WI?

The Marinette County Health Department managed to curb the spread of the infection in Marinette, a city and the county seat of Marinette County. There were two diagnoses in 2013, and zero cases were at the end of 2018.

Sexually transmitted diseases gave the Marinette County health officials a challenging task in containing their spread.

Chlamydia cases rose from 76 in 2013 to 125 at the end of 2018. The female population was most affected, with 87 cases compared to the 38 men who tested positive in 2018.

The same scenario was seen in Gonorrhea infections. The cases rose to 14 in 2018 from 6 in 2013.

The Marinette County health department was proud of keeping primary and secondary Syphilis cases at an all-time low. In 2013 and 2018, a total of three cases were reported.

To reduce the spread of HIV and STD among the residents, the Marinette Health Department has implemented a scale-up treatment as a prevention measure by diagnosing HIV as early as possible and putting infected persons in care and treatment to attain and maintain viral suppression.
