The HIV prevalence among people aged 13 years and older in Larimer County, where Johnstown, CO, is a home rule municipality, was 187 cases in 2013 and increased to 194 in 2014.

Chlamydia cases spiked from 910 at the rate of 282.6 in 2014 to 1,226 at a rate of 362 in 2016. The infections were notably higher among the female population.

Gonorrhea cases rose from 73 at a rate of 22.7 in 2014 to 126 at a rate of 37.2 in 2016.

Primary and secondary Syphilis incidences were also recorded, rising from 6 cases at a rate of 1.9 in 2014 to 9 at a rate of 2.7  in 2015 but dropped to 4 at a rate of 1.2 in 2016.

There was a fluctuation in Early Syphilis infections in Larimer County with the cases slightly dropping from 6 at a rate of 1.9 in 2014 to 5 at a rate of 1.5  in 2015 and increased to 6 at a rate of 1.8 in 2016.

The Larimer and Weld Health County Department works with the federal government to ensure funding and new investment for health departments and CBOs in the areas of disease investigation, surveillance, and STD screening and treatment.
