The city’s sexual health clinic was started to help residents protect themselves from transmittable diseases and viruses.

Hours are limited but the clinic does plan on adding more testing dates in the future. Starting in 2019, they plan on excepting appointments on Wednesdays and this is just the start.

Results for trichomoniasis and HIV are available within 20 minutes. Results for other types of STDs may take a few days.


On Tuesdays and Thursdays you can walk in but you will need an appointment on Wednesdays. Since the hours for testing are so short, you may want to get there early.

Pricing for testing is clearly listed on the website. Currently, they do not offer free testing for anyone.


Once your results are in an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) will explain them and what treatment, if any, is needed.

You can return for follow up visits but this does cost extra. You will also be given any prescriptions that might be needed, along with helpful references if additional treatment is needed.

The clinic is part of NAP (Nebraska Aids Project) and is working to eradicate the virus in the state. Even though there are usually not any physicians on staff, there are trained clinicians and counselors.

Anyone that is at least 13 years of age can get tested for HIV. The cost is minimal and includes any treatment.

If you don’t want to commit to an appointment you can walk in on Wednesdays from 4 pm to 7 pm. Be prepared to wait. The line can be long sometimes.
