Chlamydia cases in Seminole County grew from 1,406 incidences in 2010 at a rate of 332.4 per 100,000 cases to 1,984 incidences recorded in 2018 at a rate of 427.9 per 100,000 cases.
Gonorrhea cases reported in the county almost doubled in 8 years. 370 cases were reported in 2010 at a rate of 87.5 per 100,000 cases while 646 incidences were reported in 2018 at a rate of 139.3 per 100,000 cases.
Only 4 cases of congenital syphilis were reported in 2017 and 2018 combined in the county. 38 new cases of AIDS were reported in 2017, while 1324 residents were found to be living with HIV.
The Florida Health Department in Seminole County provides cheaper and confidential STD and HIV testing services as well as education programs to county residents as a means to combat further spread.
Planned parenthood-East Orlando Health Center located in University Blvd, Oviedo Women’s Health Center in Winter Springs, Oviedo, Drew Medical Inc. in Red Bug Lake Road, Oviedo, and Oviedo Medical Center in Red Bug Lake Rd are some available medical facilities that offer convenient STD testing and treatment.
Other clinics include University of Central Florida Health Services in Central Florida Blvd, Orlando, Crew Health in Pak Vale Blvd, Winter Park, and Hope and Help Center of Central Florida Inc. on Mendham Blvd Suite.
