Coos Bay, OR, experienced a wavy trend in the number of new HIV infections reported between 2017 and 2019. Records revealed four new cases in 2017, with a spike to seven diagnoses in 2018. However, by 2019 public health officials had managed to eradicate HIV infections as no new cases were reported in that year.
New Syphilis infections were reported between 2017 and 2018. 2017 had two Syphilis diagnoses that prevailed at a rate of 3.2 in every group of 100,000 individuals. In contrast, in the following year, five positive cases occurred at a rate of 7.9 per 100,000 population.
The number of new Gonorrhea infections also increased within this time frame. In this scenario, 61 persons were positively diagnosed in 2017 at a rate of 96.4, while 76 cases were recorded in the following year at a rate of 120.1.
Besides that, a downward trend was apparent in the number of new Chlamydia infections reported in 2017 and 2018. Essentially, 174 new infections were reported in the former year of reference at a rate of 274.8, while 2017 had 165 positive cases occurring at an incidence rate of 260.8.
