New Franklin is a located at the southern part of Summit County, in the northeastern part of Ohio. In the past years, the county has experienced relatively low and constant new HIV infection cases. A slight increase in new incidences was reported from 720 in 2016 to 755 in 2017 and 797 in 2018.
There was a fluctuation in the number of Chlamydia cases reported. A downward surge from 3,269 new cases in 2016 to 3,173 cases in 2017 was documented. That was followed by a significant increase of new infection numbers to 3,446 in 2018.
New gonorrhea infection incidents dropped from 1,231 in 2016, to 1,133 in 2017 and 1,119 in 2018. The infection rate of gonorrhea came in second in comparison to that of other STDs.
Although syphilis new infections appeared to be constant, an upward fluctuation was reported in 2017 at 81 cases from 65 in 2016. What followed was a drop of new infection cases to 71 in 2018.
