Cahokia, IL, located in St. Clair County, reported 599 HIV incidences in 2015 at a rate of 270 lower than the 693 cases reported in 2017 at a rate of 314.

The number of people diagnosed with the deadly virus in 2018 was 691 at a rate of 315, showing a steady rise of infections over the four years.

The St. Clair County Health Department promotes programs within the county that support harm reduction of needle exchange for people using and injecting drugs by providing HIV/STD prevention education and support services to reduce the transmission rate.
