Lemoore is a city located in Kings Count, California. According to the Census Bureau, in 2018, the population of Kings County was an estimated 151,366. Like many other areas, Kings County has seen an increase in sexually transmitted diseases, with chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis being the most reported.
In a case study ranging from 2013-2016, there were a reported 265.7 cases of HIV/AIDS. Chlamydia cases were reported as 660.3 cases, while there were 85.3 reported cases of gonorrhea in females. Male cases of gonorrhea were reported as 89.3.
The incidence of male infected cases of primary and secondary syphilis was 13.3, with a negligible amount for women.
In 2015, California’s Department of Public Health released a report showing cases of chlamydia rose from 524 in 2014, to 596 in 2015, whereas gonorrhea increased from 148 cases in 2014 to 172 cases of the county in 2015. There were a reported 19 cases of primary and secondary syphilis and one reported case of congenital syphilis in 2015.
There are several locations within Lemoore and Kings County to be tested for sexually transmitted diseases. Kings County Department of Public Health located on Campus Drive is one such place.
Other locations include Adventist Health on East D Street in Lemoore and United Health Centers of the San Joaquin Valley (Lemoore Health Center), which is located on North Lemoore Avenue in Lemoore.
