The rate of Gonorrhea was 1,790 in 2006. In 2018, 2,300 new cases of Gonorrhoea were reported at a rate of 152.0 per 100,000 persons.
In 2018, there were 8,817 new cases of Chlamydia reported; a rate of 621.2 per 100,000 persons. This was an increase of 102 percent from the 2006 total of 3,882. Chlamydia accounted for 71 percent of the total STD cases.
In 2018, 683 Syphilis cases with a rate of 62.5 per 100,000 per persons were reported. This was a significant increase from 2006 when 250 cases were recorded. From the years 2006 to 2018, Hillsborough County saw a dramatic increase in the number of Syphilis cases.
To increase the community testing capacity, the Hillsborough Department of Health has partnered with community-based organizations to provide facilities with free STD Testing for local residents.
