Introduction

What are the STI test options in Magnolia,AR?

In 2018, people confirmed with HIV in Magnolia, AR, in Columbia County, totaled 33, prevailing at a rate of 161, a case lower than the 34 HIV incidents noted in 2021 at a prevalence rate of 170.

Chlamydia occurrences surged from 212 at an incidence rate of 884.0 in 2016 to 224 diagnoses in 2017 at a rate of 948.1.

Gonorrhea also decreased from 59 cases in 2016, prevailing at a rate of 246.0, to 48 incidents in 2017 at a reduced rate of 203.2.

In 2016 and 2017, the county did not have any reported Early Latent Syphilis or P&S Syphilis. The low incidents were a sign of less risky sexual health behaviors.

Columbia County Health Department works toward lowering sexually transmitted infections through empathetic and nonjudgmental STI and HIV infection counseling. It encourages health providers to offer intensive behavioral counseling for high-risk adolescents and adults to curb the spread of the infections. Preventative methods in the county include condoms, HIV PrEP and PEP, and STI/HIV testing.

Some government-funded STD clinics within Magnolia, AR, offer free STD testing services for people that cannot afford private testing facilities. However, the tests might be free but not all-inclusive, and doctors may not be available in the medical center or on the phone.

Southern Medical Group, Premier Urgent Care, Magnolia Regional Medical Center, and UAMS Health-Family Medical Center are some of the health facilities within the city that help clients maintain their sexual health through STI testing, treatment, and preventative care.
