Area organizations, including the Health Department, are joining forces to roll out education and prevention initiatives as a way to drive down the steadily rising rates of STD cases in the region. Through concerts, artists, and classes they aim to increase awareness and decrease the stigma associated with sexually transmitted diseases.
Throughout Beaumont there are many private and public std testing options, from the Legacy Community Health Services on North 11th Street to the Triangle AIDS Network Incorporated on North 7th Street. Free STD testing can be found but since it isn’t offered everywhere finding a location can be difficult.
