Previously known as Denniston, Olivehurst CA, is a census-designated place in Yuba County, a county whose rate of new HIV infections almost doubled between 2019 and 2020.

Furthermore, there was an upward development in the number of new Chlamydia infections between 2017 and 2018. Here, officials reported 306 diagnoses in 2017 at a rate of 398.6 and 354 new infections in 2018 rated at 456.8.
Even though public health stakeholders in the county have managed to keep the prevalence of STDs such as Gonorrhea on the low, they’ve realized the need to maximize on the state-funded HIV/STD prevention initiative to achieve similar results for HIV and other STDs. Through the program, they have adopted innovative partner notification strategies, improved access to PrEP/PEP medications for high-risk individuals, enhanced access to aftercare for positively diagnosed persons, and allocated more funds to community-based healthcare providers.
